Over at Examiner.com, James George, the intrepid Arts Reporter for Arlington has written a nice article about my upcoming show. You can find it here. Let me tell you about Jim, in his "previous life" he has been a magazine publisher and has served on the boards of theater and dance companies, and he is a published author. His wife and daughter are both "creatives" and artists. Jim is genuinely interested in all that goes on in the art world, and especially in the with local area. He enjoys "matchmaking" and putting artists together with those who support the arts. If you are an artist, I encourage you to get in touch with Jim, and tell him about your work... tell him I sent you! What a great day for a trip to Occoquan, Virginia! I went for the Opening Reception of "Nothing but Trees" featuring the Digital Photography of my favorite husband/wife team of photographers Jane & David Ernst, and Hammered Copper by Anne Jordan (I own several of her pieces) at the Artists Undertaking Gallery. The featured pieces are beautiful (of course I love leaves and trees)! They will be featured all month long, so it's worth a trip to go to the Gallery. http://www.theartistsundertaking.com/ . While in Occoquan, I stopped in at Salt and Pepper Bookstore http://www.saltandpepperbooks.com/ and spoke to Christine, the cheerful owner. She will now carry my flour sack cloth towels featuring my sketch/book drawings on old Cookbook Pages! She's got a really great store with "a Book for every Cook". So add Salt and Pepper to your list of places to visit in historic Occoquan!
